About Us

From humble beginnings, Seel’s Outboard, Inc was founded in 1964 by Albert W. Seel, Sr.  and his wife Dorothy. Albert was a machinist instructor at the Charleston Naval Ship Yard who pursued his dream of having an outboard repair shop through dedication and hard work. Albert’s dream began as a repair shop for outboard engines, eventually growing into a full dealership in 1973 and offering full service to boats and engines as well as sales. Before his passing in 1986, Albert instilled integrity, honesty, and hard work into his children, who with the help of his wife, grandchildren, and several others who are considered family, have carried on his vision for over 50 years.  In 1997, the second location, Seel’s Mount Pleasant, opened extending quality service to the other side of the bridge.
